About The Closet

Built in Bars

There are a few essentials you’ll have to consider when creating a bar. First of all there are three areas that need to be addressed:
  • A place to store your barware (ie glasses and other equipment),
  • Storage for your precious bottles (the good stuff) and somewhere so that you can mix all of the ingredients together.
  • And if you’re a great host, don’t forget you’ll want some comfy bar stools or chairs so you can relax with your favourite martini or mojito!

Standardly, barware such as your glasses and other mixing equipment are stored in cabinets above the counter. Much like upper cabinets in kitchens, these cabinets will need to have great lighting and doors that have either glass or decorative mesh inserts. Decorative mesh is a great way to add a metal finish. You should consider using glass shelving inside the cabinets. Glass shelves not only add a bit of sparkle but show off your glassware and other pretties in your cabinets.

Custom Bars in the GTA Area

A counter top is a great way to divide your upper cabinet (with glassware) from your storage of bottles. Usually we consider a stone or quartz counter top but you can also use a high pressure laminate (very durable) as well. Don’t forget the back splash of this area. Whether you use mirror (the ladies seem to like this), the same material as the counter top or even some tile, this is an area you should use to enhance the display of your bottle storage. Below the counter, the cabinets there should be used for storing items not as pretty above and more utilitarian.

Built in Bar Counters

When you’re behind your bar, you are the showman. You’ll need a nice table top, where you normally serve your drinks, so that you can show off your mixology. This is also a great place to put out your various appetizers and other accessories. You can either use the same counter as you have on the back of your bar for this area or try something different and really show some razzle dazzle.

Either way, this is the best time to call in one of our designers so that we can create something not only beautiful to look at but also a bar that is highly utilitarian.
